Our theme for April is Trust. Thanks to Scribe of Telcontar for the suggestion!
The presence or absence of trust is the defining moment of every relationship. There can't be true friendship or love without trust. There can be a different measure of trust between two people, changing over time s their relationship develops. Legolas and Gimli are a good example of such development. But in a bigger group, the relationships get even more complicated. You can take a look at the Fellowship and how its members trusted each other at different points of the journey.
Trust is usually between two people, and it can be an asymmetrical emotion - one side might remain faithful while the other can betray the trust. Words and deeds can differ here, and it's the deeds that matter at the end. But one can also trust in some other things and ideas, like justice, the government (or king), one's own skills...
The deadline for this challenge is April 25th, but can be extended until the end of the month. If you need an extension to finish your story or picture, just write to the email below!
For writers: send your stories to teitho.contest@gmail.com mailto:teitho.contest@gmail.com. The contest is anonymous and the story can't be posted publicaly until the results of the challenge are announced. Aragorn or Legolas don't have to be main characters, but at least one of them must be mentioned in the story.
For artists: Submit your picture into the Teitho gallery folder of Arda-Inspired http://arda-inspired.deviantart.com/ at deviantArt. The picture should be new, drawn specifically for the challenge. State that you are submitting it to the contest in the artist's comments.
