Some parts of the world already have spring, and some are still waiting for it. And so in April, our theme shall be Waiting.
Stories are written about the moments when something is happening, skipping the boring parts in between. But this time, those parts in between are what we are going to focus on. The parts when nothing is really happening, but expectation (or maybe boredom) is in the air. That would be the waiting for something to happen.
But you could be also waiting for something or someone. For years, Arwen has been waiting for Aragorn's return. Everyone in the Fellowship had someone close to him that was left behind and waiting for him. Thranduil was waiting for Legolas, Bilbo for Frodo, Rosie for Sam, Denethor was futilely waiting for Boromir...
The moments of waiting do not have to be idle, though. They can be filled with effort and tension, like waiting for reinforcements in battle, like Aragorn waited for Gandalf's return in the Helm's Deep. So even a story about waiting can be filled with action.
What are you waiting for, then? Go and write it!
