The field was almost ready for planting. Faramir was pleased how quickly the farm he had always dreamed of was progressing.
King and Steward paused to watch the harrow breaking up the weeds and clumps of earth, leaving the good Ithilien soil in its wake.
“Life is like this,” Faramir said thoughtfully. “Our troubles can break us, yet make us stronger. We are the fields in which our experiences take root and grow.”
“Few have been harrowed as much as you, my friend,” said Aragorn. “May you and Éowyn thrive and prosper as the seed you plant here surely will.”
