Sometimes at twilight, he would find her gazing westwards. Then he would draw her close and try to console her for all she had lost; lost for his sake.

“I chose to renounce the twilight when we were troth plighted,” said Arwen.

“What do you see beyond the sunset?” he asked her.

“That our time here has ended,” she replied. “For does the sun not rise in the East? Our children seek the sun not the starlight.”

“The gift and hope of Men lies beyond sun moon and stars,” said Aragorn.

“And that is where I shall follow you, Estel.”
