“I am sorry, sire, but I was unable to finish the report last night concerning the grain tariffs.”

“This is most unlike you, Faramir! Maybe I should throw you into the dungeons! Why was this?”

“I had a severe headache, sire. “ Faramir ventured to look up and suddenly noticed the wink in his lord’s eye.

“You should have come to me, Faramir. I could have given you herbs to ease the pain.” Aragorn sounded concerned. “Forgive me, I did not realise you were unwell.”

Faramir smiled and nodded. One day he hoped he would become accustomed to Aragorn’s teasing!
