Aragorn had often overlooked lunch in the past, or seen it as interruption when more pressing tasks called. He had been content with a few snatched mouthfuls of food while on the move. A warrior ate when and where he could.

Nowadays Aragorn often counted the hours until midday, though he was better fed than he had been for years. Though the food was often too rich for his taste and the portions too lavish, he always eagerly awaited noon.

He hungered not for food, but for a precious hour spent in the company of his beloved wife and Queen!
