A gift for shirebound

Eru’s gift was indeed a gift and not a curse as foolish men believed. Beyond the circles of the world there was neither pain nor sorrow. Aragorn’s mother and father greeted him joyfully, together with Halbarad and Faramir and the Hobbits. Ah, it was good to see them again!

One joy alone was lacking, but Aragorn was accustomed to waiting patiently.

Sadly he beheld her sorrowful fading. Much as he yearned for their reunion he would have not begrudged her more happy years with their ever growing family.

One day he knew that it was time.  He was waiting to lead her home when she cast aside her mortal shell upon the slopes of Cerin Amroth.

She had never quite believed that they would be together again. He beheld her bewilderment turn to joy when he took her hand.

Nothing can part us now, beloved.”

Aragorn led her beyond the circles of the world; beyond sun and moon and stars, even beyond the western sea, to where all who had gone before were waiting, restored and renewed; to the eternal world of everlasting spring where the mallorns were forever golden and Arwen could dance with him amid the stardust.
