Wharf

Written the Advent Challenge

Wharf

The characters are the property of the Tolkien Estate.

“I name this ship Eärendil. May the Valar protect all who sail in her!” cried Aragorn in a loud voice. He smashed a bottle of fine wine against the hull. Together with his Queen and Prince Imrahil, he stood on the wharf at Dol Amroth.

“You would be welcome to accompany me on her maiden voyage,” said Imrahil.” That is, if it would not cause distress.”

“My love for my lord is stronger than the sea longing.” Arwen replied. Her eyes, though, were sad.

The gulls screamed only to the wind for the Queen would never now hear their call.
