Our theme for June is Circles. Thanks to Cassie Hughes for the suggestion!
We can go round in circles, either mentally, trying to work out a problem or physically like Sam and Frodo getting lost in Mordor. Other things can go round in circles as well, especially strories - like the echoes of Beren and Luthien in Aragorn and Arwen, but also different fads and fashions, until they come full circle, because the wheel of fate is turning...
There are indeed many metaphorical uses for a circle, but it can also be a regular, physical object - stone circles or crop circles (with a hint of mystery), people dancing in circles... A circle can also mean a selected group of people, the "inner circle" of advisors or close friends. It can be a symbol of solidarity and equality, like the round table of Arthurian knights.
Middle-earth has also its own circle terminology: when men die they go 'beyond the Circles of the World'. Not to mention that rings are, of course, also circles.
As you can see, you can choose from many meanings the one that fits best for your story or picture. In this topic, there are no corners to hide behind from plot bunnies!
The deadline for this challenge is June 25th, but can be extended until the end of the month. If you need an extension to finish your story or picture, just write to the email below!
